Longtails vs Swallows [Mar 2] – Final Score: 6-1 to Swallows

The Longtails scored first off a penalty corner by injector Selina Whitter to Tiana Correia who controlled the ball from outside the ‘D’ and slightly inside the circle to make a clean shot at goal to the right side of the Swallows’ keeper in the 7th minute, but the action belonged to the Swallows after that.

Only three minutes later the Swallows’ Saki Perinchief scored a field goal due to the breakdown of play in the Longtails’ circle as the ball traveled through the keeper’s legs. A penalty corner was awarded to Swallows’ due to obstruction in the circle; injector Liz Stewart passed to Jennifer Hale at the top of the ‘D’ who beat the Longtails’ defenders with a controlled ball and slamming the ball past the keeper in the 15th minute to go up 2-1.

Another penalty corner was awarded to the Swallows, but there was no conversion. Despite this, Liz Stewart collected the ball from this broken down penalty corner on the left and dribbled to the top and, with a bit of scrimmage near the Longtails’ keeper, Stewart found Hale, who converted to the right stick of the keeper in the 47th minute to make the score 3-1.

The Swallows’ Liz Stewart scored a field goal from a dribble from the 25 metre line into the circle and a shot at goal in the 49th minute. Sara Perdichizzi scored a field goal after receiving a hit from outside which entered the circle and then scored just passed the keeper in the 50th minute.

Finally, the Swallows’ Liz Stewart scored her second field goal from a dribble from the 25 metre line into the circle and a shot at goal in the 69th minute to end the game at 6-1 to Swallows.
