Confusion Surrounds GP Licence Plate Issue

March 7, 2014

Confusion surrounds the statement made by Minister Patricia Gordon-Pamplin that the GP plates on Cabinet Minister’s cars were removed due to safety threats, with the Minister saying today [Mar 7] that the Bermuda Police Service did not recommend it.

Speaking with ZBM, the Minister said, “The information that I had initially indicated that recommendation came from the Police Department, but I have been advised by the Police that they actually did not.

“I am now delving in to where the actual instruction came from, because clearly the Department acted on that information….so I have yet to get to the bottom of it.”

Speaking in the House of Assembly on Wednesday [Mar 5], Minister Gordon-Pamplin said, “When I have been made aware that there are threats to safety of Ministers, that it is important to ensure that we try to minimise those challenges as much as we possibly can.

“And as a result of that, some of the licence plates have actually been changed from GP to a regular civilian plate number.”

“There is no need to hide anything on this side. I mean you can’t really hide a car. But I can assure Members that there is no intent to mislead, deceive, or whatever.

“But when I look at the safety of our Ministers, it is paramount to me to ensure that any necessary steps are taken so that these problems do not exist.

“But there are things that need to be done in consultation with Special Branch and other parts of security forces that give us recommendations. And we will be foolhardy if we did not follow these recommendations,” added the Minister.

While the island’s other security force, the Bermuda Regiment, declined to comment, unofficial reports do not suggest they were involved in making the suggestion.

  1. New PLP supporter says:

OBA. I’ve expected so much more.

Let’s look back to when Zane desilva was harassed. Did the PLP scare off?

In reality, why do you need cars?

You look to ruin our island by including casinos. Not because of casinos, but because of allowing locals to use them…

I voted with confidence in you, I’m now tired of you two years in.

    • Evie says:

Dear Minster Gordon-Pamplin just say u lied that is truly what u did come now smh

      • BETTTY TRUMP says:

“The information that I had initially indicated that recommendation came from the Police Department, but I have been advised by the Police that they actually did not”..wow and the plot thickens.

STOP IT UBPOBA, this is getting even more embarrassing for you. The reality is you made so much of a holler and big deal pre-election about GP cars. The UBPba went on and on about, and how you would not use them..or you would cut back on their use…you parked them down the Quarry on show…..FOR WHAT?…….now your trying to cover your butts, so folks would not spot the use of them when your using them for all activities government or nongovernmental business. REALLY

I never had a problem with the use of GP cars. I believe all MPs should have one…but the UBPoba created a SILLY ISSUE about GP pre-election which is now coming back to bite them hard in the butts.

        • Really? says:

I think the UBPOBA is the lesser of two evils when compared with the BIUPLP…

      • The book thief says:

Remember the days when Oba said oooo the cars are not needed…plp has too many blah blah blah .pettingill we biking to work for a photo op lol. Oba I’m sorry but all has gone down hill.

  2. Paul says:

I had a lot of respect for minister Pamplin, but her lame excuse for changing the licence plates on GP cars was deplorable…..

  3. No Effin Way! says:

What the hell is wrong with the OBA?!?!

All it seems they doe is lie to us. How do you make up something about the police and think no one is going to call you on it.

    This country is doomed!

    • Mike Hind says:

Yeah… like it’s not on both sides of the fence.

      Come on.

What’s especially ironic is, after the nonsense with the Uighurs, you’re going to say something like “How do you make up something about the police and think no one is going to call you on it.”

This country ISN’T doomed, but it won’t heal properly until we have a modicum of honesty and stop throwing out hypocritical nonsense like this.

“All it seems they doe is lie to us” could be applied to both sides.

      Come on.

      • Uncle Bob says:

MIKE BLIND I MEAN HIND…U SOUND REALLY DAFT…SMH

        • Mike Hind says:

Yeah. It’s ME that sounds daft. Your post says nothing and adds nothing and is nothing more than a ridiculous, pathetic personal attack… all the while hiding like a coward behind a hood of a fake name.

Do better than this. We deserve a better level of conversation than this sad display you’re putting on.

Daft? You’re a pathetic clown. Do better.

          • neverODDOreven says:

The Uighurs are here…..the money is missing…..the people of this country are trying now to dig out from the excesses of the previous administration and have clearly learned that when you say nothing about misdeeds there are horrible consequences to be felt.

People do not only see what the OBA is doing…..people KNOW what was done in the past by the PLP.

Is it at all possible that some people are being hyper critical of the OBA (the current government) because they do not want a repeat of what happened in the past that has us in the state we are currently in?

Is it possible that there is some new awareness for a segment of the community that prior to 1998 were politically uninvolved?

Is it possible that the reason we have the problems we have now is because people said nothing while the most ridiculous things happened right in front of our faces?

Would it be wise to say nothing now?

I think some people would rather be called hypocrites now than to be called a fool TWICE.

            • Mike Hind says:

Yep. all of that is correct.

And none of it have anything to do with what I said.

In fact, most of it agrees with my point.

              Weird.

              • neverODDOreven says:

You find it weird that I agree with you? Are responses only supposed to completely DISagree with you?

I’ll address exactly what you said…….

“Yeah… like it’s not on both sides of the fence.” People want something better this time around.

“What’s especially ironic is, after the nonsense with the Uighurs, you’re going to say something like “How do you make up something about the police and think no one is going to call you on it.”"……….

Who better to call them on it than the people who are now feeling the brunt of sitting by the sidelines mute when they should have spoken up?

“This country ISN’T doomed, but it won’t heal properly until we have a modicum of honesty and stop throwing out hypocritical nonsense like this.” ……I don’t see it as hypocrisy but more like once bitten twice shy…….. say something about this or we’ll regret it like we do the last 14 years.

“”All it seems they doe is lie to us” could be applied to both sides. “……..it is being applied to both sides that has us in a form of gridlock because every current misdeed is being justified by past misdeeds rather than being righted.

Maybe now you understand my weird post better……or maybe it’s just still weird.

                • Mike Hind says:

No, I find it weird that you seem to be chastising me, then saying almost the exactly the same thing… although through some pretty rose coloured glasses.

You say you don’t see it as hypocrisy.
I cannot even begin to fathom how you can’t.

You say “Who better to call them on it than the people who are now feeling the brunt of sitting by the sidelines mute when they should have spoken up?”

But we’re not talking about them. We’re talking about people that are STILL DEFENDING what happened then, but now, it’s the worst thing in the world.

I just wrote a post to a “Marie”, explaining my problem with this hypocrisy and with the responses of the demagogues that make a mountain out of every molehill.

As you can see from the responses to my pretty simple post, it’s REALLY hard to side with people who a) will say some pretty horrible… and completely false!… stuff about you for daring to question them and b) will then go on to denounce every little thing the Government does, especially when they’re defending the same behaviour on their own side.

How am I supposed to back up someone who has spread lies and misinformation about me, simply because I asked them to back up their claim?
How am I supposed to come out to support someone with a history of hateful, racist and homophobic posts?

If someone on the OBA’s side were posting things as racist as “Mazumbo”, would you back them up when they had a point?

My problem is when people get on here claiming that it’s all one sided, one way or the other.
It’s not. You know it’s not.

                  • neverODDOreven says:

Wow……I can feel the passion in your post….it’s almost like you’re in the room with me.

I get it now……I guess……I wasn’t chastising you I was trying to give an explanation between now and then…..that’s all.

        • Mazumbo says:

Just Pathetic and Embarrassing, I’m Flabbergasted, actually I’m not, it’s just consistent from Commercial Immigration to allegations to secret taping to Jet Gate to ………………………………. Stay tuned.

          • Really? says:

I’d love to know what gain was made by accepting the Uighurs into our country.

            • street wise says:

You mean, you actually don’t know who received the “gain” as a result of the weegers coming here… Seriously? Did you just get off the boat?

          • Mike Hind says:

            This was just nonsense.

            Do better.

      • moms says:

@mike hind—you can’t seem to stick to the issue…pathetic die hard supporter is all you are… we know you can’t be depended on for truth! the oba/(ubp?) are the government of the day so why would we be comparing what happened two administrations ago! get over yourself and try to comment on issues!

        • Mike Hind says:

          *sigh*

          Here we go again.
I’ve explained my position, time and again. Go back and read. I literally just did it the other day.

Pointing out hypocrisy, while annoying to those being hypocrites, is still a valid thing.

Pointing out that a PLP supporter suddenly demanding the Government be honest is hypocritical is valid.

What’s pathetic is you pop on to take a swipe at me, then close with “comment on issues”… after not doing that.

How about you take your own advice and do just that and stop making useless, false and bizarre ad hominem attacks?

          How about that, “mom”?

Oh, and if you’re going to make personal attacks, how about doing it in public and not while hiding behind the hood a pen name, like a coward?

          • Mike Hind says:

It’s amazing to me that NONE of you guys ever respond after making these ridiculous attacks.

I’ll never understand how this is ok… with ANYONE.

      • pleaze says:

@mike your only defence is always well look what PLP did which is irrelevant….it is also why they are now the opposition…. OBA campaigned on promises to not do as PLP did, which we are quickly finding out to be a bunch bs… But this is party politics until we get away from it, it’ll alway be same no matter who’s in power. SNAKES

        • Mike Hind says:

It’s not a defence. I’m not defending anyone.
As I’ve explained MANY times before, I’m not an OBA supporter.
Yes, I do have an anti-PLP bias, one that is based on their record of mismanagement, racially hostile statements, homophobia, lies and, basically, an active campaign letting me know that I and people that look like me are not welcome in their party.
This does NOT make me an OBA supporter.

I do agree with you about party politics. We need to get rid of it. But until we do, wouldn’t it be better to demand a higher level of discourse? One based on honesty and integrity?
The post that you’re all responding to is one where I ask someone to admit that bad behaviour happens on both sides. The responses have all, pretty much been – except for one that chastised me, then went on to say pretty much the same thing – nothing but personal attacks, denouncing me for defending the OBA (which… how? How does “It happens on both sides” equal a defence of the OBA?).

All I’m asking is for an ounce of honesty and integrity.

          I’m not seeing it anywhere.

    • The Messenger says:

      No Effin Way!

What’s wrong with the OBA? …… The good news is that it cannot be transmitted to persons outside of their group. We outsiders need to stay put and quietly observe the movements of the BIG hand with the eraser.

  4. Kangoocar says:

The one thing that really disappoints me with the OBA, is the fact that they cannot come to terms with the fact that the mostly plp CS will continue to feed the false information in an attempt to make them look bad!!! Wake up OBA, and reduce the trouble makers in the CS which in fact will help with the debt problem you inherited from the plp anyway and follow what the great President Regan always said, ” Trust but verify ” again I say wake the heck up OBA!!!!!!!

    • No Effin Way! says:

You really think a Civil Servant made this up? If so that civil servant would be fired!

Just accept it that your beloved OBA is a bunch of liars.

      • Rhonda Neil says:

a CS made this up..and the OBA felt if made sense and implemented it…

      • Kangoocar says:

What planet are you from??? Nobody can fire a CS, I stand by what I said!!! OBA wake the heck up and start laying them off!!!

        • The Messenger says:

          Kangoocar,

Keep calling for lay-offs and those same lay-offs are going to come calling for you. Burglaries are already taking place throughout the island. Desperate people do desperate things when it comes to survival. You’d do the same thing. Should this trend continue and numbers increase I see Bermuda becoming a police state with curfews, food rationing, serious/fatal assaults on employed foreigners, certain OBA MPs who will be viewed as being responsible for Bermuda’s bitter dilemma, and robberies carried out against visitors.

    • randell says:

@kangaroo,u can’t see the forest for the trees.u sir are a fraud.

    • Evie says:

Stop blaming others for their wrong if you want to do something do it your the government for goodness sake stop this lying be the government

    • Mazumbo says:

Did you say great President Ragan?
      Are you serious!!!!!!!!!!

      • Kangoocar says:

Sure did!!! Let me guess, you would say the great Obama wouldn’t you???

    • Eye of Horus says:

Not sure who, “the great President Regan” is but I know the actor controlled by CIA President Ronald Reagan said, “Trains are not any more energy efficient than the average automobile, with both getting about 48 passenger miles to the gallon.” & “Unemployment insurance is a pre-paid vacation for freeloaders.” & “We were told four years ago that 17 million people went to bed hungry every night. Well, that was probably true. They were all on a diet.” & “Politics is just like show business. You have a hell of an opening, coast for a while, and then have a hell of a close.” & the list could go on forever of all the other dumb crap he said.

    • Impressive says:

Just when i thought u may had begone thinking a little bit more logical you go and jump the hell overboard again. So a Government Minister is made out to be a liar once again, and you come on here and assume it was a civil servant that made it up, and then state that the government should eliminate some civil servants because they are feeding the press with trash and are trouble makers. Really?? Not once have you addressed the matter of hand, but go on to attack persons who you assume led to this,, I think you have officially lost your mind.. Please think about what you wrote, I mean come on man, have some dignity

  5. Noel Taylor says:

OR they can fulfill campaign promise to eliminate the GP fleet

  6. Ruthless says:

Now that’s two parties I won’t vote for! What will I do now! Both parties are full of dreamers!

    • JT says:

Dreamers maybe, but we have to vote for one.

Suddenly, all the noise the PLP have been making for the last year may actually have a bit of truth to it. OBA are making it really hard for me to trust them. Between the premier taking the 5th and GordonPamplin lying things are not looking good.

      • Mike Hind says:

So, you’d rather go with the PLP?

        Seriously?

With the homophobia and the xenophobia (come on, you lot. Get over yourselves. You constantly talk about how bad foreigners are. You’re xenophobic. It’s not an insult, it’s a fact.) and the racially hostile statements and all the lies THEY told?

If your argument is “The lesser of two evils”, how can you compare?

        • Mazumbo says:

And foreigners talk how bad Bermudians are but the Minister defends foreigners being talked about but does not defend Bermudians when they’re talked about by foreigners , “which shows you how deep his Bermuda blood flows”, and racial hostile statements are a part of Bermuda’s Political History and these statements today are minor compared to de Oligarchy days, I think you would be in complete shock if I were to print them out and then you would see how real Racist talk. And being homophobic is an African trait, but then I guess you wouldn’t understand.

          • Mike Hind says:

            *sigh*

Foreigners talking bad about Bermudians is a) not relevant to my point and b) something I speak out against when I see it.

The Minister has nothing to do with my point.

Racially hostile statements ARE part of Bermuda’s Political History. I agree.
But they should be left exactly there. As part of history.
The people who said those things are no longer in the Government (If I’m wrong and there are folks in power that have said racially hostile things, please prove me wrong) and their behaviour should be denounced. Not repeated.

            And you’re right. I wouldn’t understand.
The main reason I wouldn’t understand is because it’s completely wrong.

It’s a modern “African trait” (a racist statement, by the way), brought there by colonists. Do some research.
For all your talk about the bad things the white man has done to Africans, it’s really weird (and sad) that you don’t denounce this one.

Then again, you’ll take any excuse to hate, won’t you?

And, finally, nothing that you’ve said has addressed any of the points I made in my post.
It’s just, as usual, personal attacks, smear, racist statements, lies, misinformation and… oh, wait… it’s you… so, par for the course.

Do better. Live up to the name you chose.

        • Eye of Horus says:

There was nothing xenophobic about JT’s comment & there was nothing xenophobic about the Shadow Minister Burt highlighting that we have a one size fits all immigration system that allows unskilled foreign workers to gain jobs in Bermuda. This is the straight up truth. You & minister Fayh would love would love to spin it that way to change the voting demographic of Bermuda but spin is all it is & ever will be. If you want to spin do it in your Tiny Tim act while having delusions of grander about being in the spotlights of Bermuda’s Casino Entertainment playing viva las Bermudas on the ukele.

          • Mike Hind says:

            Speaking of spin…

            A) you very obviously didn’t read my post all the way through… or with any sort of comprehension

            and

            B) You’ve obviously got some personal grudge against me, based on your last little, poorly written, poorly spelled, ranting sentence.
Shame I can’t do anything about it, as you don’t have the courage to sign your actual name to it. Nah. You just want to throw stones from under your hood, like the coward that you are.

            Go back and read.

And C) Why is it so bad to have a vested interest in supporting gaming? I’m Bermudian and want to work, so that I can make a living. Why is that bad?
Can it be simply that I don’t support the same party as you?

            Seriously? Are you THAT pathetic?

            Seriously?

            • Eye of Horus says:

Please don’t think yourself that special that I’d have a grudge against you. I could give a shart about you or your mini guitar which I can misspell or misname all I please & you will still get the jest of after your anally retentive grammatical critique. Besides why would anyone put their real name on a blog unless they have no other life outside of this blog? Do you really want to go there & call someone a coward when you don’t know who they are. What if I did come up to you & say the same thing? What would you do? Seems like you’re making veiled threats at someone you don’t know. I did read your comment towards JT & understand clearly you are calling them an xenophobe but have not seen one comment where they personify this. I don’t see anything wrong with having a vested interest in supporting gaming but when that interest deludes judgement of what is an apparent truth it’s entirely different. Only reason I poked fun of it was to get a rise out of you as I can see by your unwavering blind support where your priorities are & just wanted to pull them to the surface & further support my point of what someone will overlook just to justify the unjustifiable.

By The Way! There is no such thing as, “The lesser of two evils” Evil is evil no matter if its served sunny side up or over easy.

              • Mike Hind says:

                Wow. You’re insane!

I very obviously did NOT call JT a xenophobe. You are very obviously incapable of reading… and reason.

This entire post is nothing but a childish tantrum, lashing out because you don’t like what I say.

You denounce me for posting under my real name… How does that make a lick of sense.

If you said it to my face, we could have a conversation about it. I could also dismiss you as a crazy person. As it stands now, you’re just another coward. Yes, I do want to call you a coward. The fact that I don’t know who you are is the reason for it. How are you missing that?
There are no threats at all in my post and never are. You can try to lie and pretend there is (you seem to have a habit of doing that), but that’s exactly what it is. A lie.

You say “deludes judgement of what is an apparent truth…”, but don’t say what that truth is.

You then go on to claim I have blind support (for the OBA, I assume). This is wrong, and I’ve explained it several times. We’re getting into your comprehension problems again.

Try reading what I ACTUALLY wrote and addressing THAT, rather than whatever nonsense you made up in your twisted little brain.

            • Marie (is my real M,Name) No Hood says:

LMBFAWTFO, u r a joke Mr. Hind. Ur comments r reading like long-winded Bettty scripts lmbfawtfo, Seriously, u’r starved for real entertainment. Toughin up cookie, Pull to N*.
I noticed u didn’t comment on the topic (just comments to the commenters’ comments) in such detail. 

So, seeing how this topic thread is about yet another OBA Minister’s “act of confusion”, let’s take it to reason that a fair amount of the comments will cast negative aspersions on the sitting Gov’t. The ppl of Bda SELECTED the OBA as the lesser of the political evils. So now the spotlight is on the O.B.A. Yet how dutiful are the Demagogues still enlightening the readers on the PLP’s abysmal reign-Such rhetoric engenders appropriate responses, yes?. AMAZing, Bravo Siera. (Oh yes, Mr. Hind, u sir r dismissed).

Anyway, is it not the siting Govt’s integrity that is the topic of scrutiny these days (era-post 17-Dec-2012). For the job I’m paid to do, who’s truly accountable for my epousing misinformation. When I ef up, I’m held accountable. How I s’pose to tell the regulators I didn’t do my client due diligence. Ha, wtf, in d real world I’d b fired n. blacklisted.
Due diligence is an individual responsibility. Dang Pat, I’m disappointeed in ur recent public appearances – dirty work politics is, but somebody’s gotta do it, init.

              • Mike Hind says:

Speaking of crazy people. What the heck was THIS?

I’m dismissed? By whom? YOU? “Marie”? Right.

Maybe when you learn some integrity, honesty and a little grammar, we can talk.
Until then, you can be dismissed as the ridiculous troll that you appear to be.

You seem to miss the entire point of hypocrisy and the fact that things that weren’t important to folks like you just a few short years ago now seem to be end-of-the-world-causing events. Something your own party did just a little while ago… something folks like you defended!… is now reason for an elected official to be fired.

                Here’s the problem:

You guys make a mountain out of EVERY molehill, and do it with such vehemence and in such REALLY disgusting ways that it’s almost impossible for anyone to agree with you the few times you actually DO have a point.

When you come at me like you did, like the rest of you do, attacking me for things I didn’t say, bringing up personal stuff you guys don’t know about, saying really horrible things about me and others, how am I supposed to jump up and say “You know, they’re right!” when you… well, not YOU, obviously, but when someone else… actually has a good point?

What’s happening with this behaviour is that you’re giving the OBA carte blanche to do what they want, because no one will ever speak up against them, because it’d mean agreeing with racists and homophobes and people that are willing to say literally ANYTHING to denounce them.
Compared to some of the things you guys have said to and about me, yours isn’t even a blip on the horizon of personal attacks.

                Do better.

Figure out what’s important to fight against and not what you think can make political points.

I’m a white Bermudian who didn’t vote in the last election . And I’m so glad that I didn’t , my conscious is clear because I’ll never have to defend people whose first reaction when caught doing something they promised never to do is to lie . As a matter of fact I do admit that the lie started from the transition UBP , BDA, OBA period . I’ll take this opportunity to apologize to the two outstanding men with the last name of Swan . Those two men are shining examples of of the dedication exemplified by another man Named Swan , Sir John Swan . The rest have proven themselves unworthy of the task set before them . Thank you Mr.Speaker .

    • Mike Hind says:

      Riiiight.

      • Kangoocar says:

        Thank you Mike!

        • Mazumbo says:

Ya sounds like I’m a young educated black Bermudian that’s upset and a Business Investor that’s concerned.
          LMFAO

          • Mike Hind says:

Yep. I believe them as much as I believe this one.
            Honesty. It’s really not difficult.

    • Triangle Drifter says:

And your screen name is Coffee. Yup, believe every word you say.

    • Really? says:

By not voting your forfeit the validity of your opinion in this debate as far as I am concerned.

  8. nuffin but the truth says:

There is clearly something weird about this..anyone with any sense can spotted a ministry car with or without numbers or otherwise…

Frankly there is NO need for these cars anyway, only 2 should be kept and the rest sold off..one for Premier use and one kept in reserve.

If there are Threats made, the Police will have to do what they have to do.

    • Eye of Horus says:

Why should the premier get one? He’s not king! He’s a servant of the people, by the people & supposed to be for the people not above them. He & all democratic leaders need a taste of humility to make them worthy of the position they hold.

      • Mike Hind says:

Did you say this during the past few administrations?

        Just asking…

  9. Terry says:

    Probabley Betty again.
Always talin lies ann stirin tings hup.

  10. Rockfish#1 says:

This is incredible. Of all the Ministers, most people would expect her to do the homework properly, especially, before speaking in the House.

And to think she unfairly involved the BPS.

    Disappointing!

  11. Uncle Bob says:

Oba are name changers instead of game changers…smh…sad very sad

  12. Srsly? says:

Let’s be realistic here… Why would it be in the news that they were hiding cars if they didn’t want us to know… Think ppl.

    • Eye of Horus says:

Because like their predecessors they got caught so now the song & dance must ensue. Just as they couldn’t cover their tracks when the premier invited his ”Golf Expert” who hasn’t been in a competition for decades & coincidentally was his private company’s manager on a government business meeting. Do they have to be as blatant as their predecessors & say they had to deceive you for the clarity to come through?

  13. My boy says:

Why are people making a big deal about liscence plates?

    • Mazumbo says:

Because they want to blend in with private cars and do the things that they blamed the P.L.P of doing.

      • Really? says:

        Such as?

      • Mike Hind says:

        Such as?

        • Impressive says:

I aint feeding you. Your eyes are bigger than your stomach,, lol.. behave mike.

          • Mike Hind says:

            Well done, answering with gibberish.

And well done not answering the question.

Isn’t it funny how you guys get so upset about other people not answering questions… yet when the shoe’s on the other foot…

            Oh, yeah.

“It’s ok when we do it.”

            Hypocrites.

            • Impressive says:

Now now,, dont go around calling me names,, I am not going to entertain you, because you are well aware of all the things that where said about the PLP during their term in office. I am not saying that all of it was unwarranted, but dont pretend like you dont know all the assertions regarding how the PLP where corrupt and living lavishly etc.. Dont be calling me names, I always remain a certain respect for you, regardless of the fact that I dont agree with most of what you say.

              • Mike Hind says:

Wasn’t calling you a name. I was describing your behaviour.

And yes. I do know all the stuff that was said about the PLP during those 14 years.

However, I didn’t say them and I’m not responsible for those that did.

Address what _I_ say, not others.

“Mazumbo” said: Because they want to blend in with private cars and do the things that they blamed the P.L.P of doing.

Which is a pretty vague accusation, so I asked, simply:

                Such as?

You responded, out of the blue “I aint feeding you. Your eyes are bigger than your stomach,, lol.. behave mike.”

                Which makes no sense whatsoever.

Which led me to realize the irony of this.

You guys are freaking out about the Minister and the Premier not answering questions, yet when someone asks a simple one like “Such as?”, it’s grounds for a bizarre “I ain’t feeding you…” spew of gibberish… and then this lumping in with all the folks that made bizarre accusations against the PLP.

All I want is an honest discourse. All I want is integrity. Why is that a bad thing?

            • Marie (is my real M,Name) No Hood says:

Yes, it’s always okay when u do it Mr Hind. So what’s the topic again? Oh yeah, yet another OBA Minister misleading the public on current affairs. Hahahaha. U’ve gotta admit they’ve got u baffalled with their buffonary

              • Marie (is my real M,Name) No Hood says:

                Oops *baffled by buffoonery*

              • Mike Hind says:

When, exactly, did I do it?

Please. If you’re going to make an accusation, please back it up.

    • street wise says:

Not much of an issue, is it? But plp/biu supporters, just like their paltry Party, will do ANYTHING to bring down this Gov’t. Even with an issue this minor. What’s the big deal, all Gov’ts lie, the plp/biu regime being the best at it by far!

      • Impressive says:

you cant be serious, are you actually condoning lying?? what next.

    • somebody's momma says:

The problem is that the Minister lied. I have no problem with them driving cars but I think it was difficult with all the problems the OBA are facing for the Minister to say we broke another electon promise.

  14. LP says:

Why doesn’t Zane just be a little more responsible and keep his mouth shut. There may be more to this than he knows and he may be putting people at risk by ‘delving’ / causing trouble.

    • Eye of Horus says:

You shouldn’t be so naive & they shouldn’t of been so simple as to think they would get this one past Zane. Zane’s the pro at vehicular stratagem.

  15. Come On Man says:

Her saying the Police recommended this was an insult to them because I was scratching my head thinking how stupid they are. They just don’t want the public ID-ing them when there parked where they shouldn’t be. Dah!

I think that when the next “situation” is revealed that all involved best have a lil “pow wow” and get the story straight so that they are all on the SAME page…

    #comedycentral……#borderingonridiculous…………#Ican’tdeal……..#willtheyevergetitright…..#pinocchiointhehouse…..

  21. Back of town says:

Get rid of the dang cars as you promised OBA, we need to cut expenses. Every household is restricted to one car. These households have multiple people working, often on different schedules, but we have to manage with only one car. These ministers are going to a paid second job, let them manage as the rest of us.

If you keep them, you have to keep the gap license plates so we can easily identify when they are being misused, There’s no reason for a GP car to be parked outside of a restaurant on a Sunday morning while the minister collects his codfish…why should I have to pay for these actions.

  22. Mazumbocann says:

I never, for one moment, thought that the police recommended it. The police know very well that even they can’t hide in unmarked vehicles. As soon as the unmarked police vehicle hit the Block, word of their presence moved faster than the cars. That was back in the day before cell phones and social media. Now days you can your every move is tracked….. You just can’t hide!!! TTYL. I gotta go …………

  23. Disbelief says:

    She lied, fire her. Simple!

  24. joe blo says:

What amazes me is that she said that fist she thinks it’s the police who gave advice, but now she not shore, she has to find out were it came from. Wouldn’t u find out fist were the advise came from. SMH !

  25. Rudy says:

anybody could see right through this bull

  26. Starting Point says:

All these incidents with the OBA do not highlight failure on the ministers parts, it highlights how inept and useless the majority of the civil service is, departments acting on BS information, mistakes in filing, decisions made without any reason etc..

This would have gone unnoticed in the PLP as the departments were not allowed to make any decisions as the ministers felt they were gods on earth, we are now at the opposite end of the spectrum where the OBA ministers, as it should be, have left the decision making to the departments…only to find out that they are useless lol.

    • Eye of Horus says:

Do you think that if the civil service told any average joe the same excuse they wouldn’t have scratched their heads then turned around & asked more questions. Luckily someone didn’t tell Minister Gordon-Pamplin leprechauns changed the license plates or she’d feel real silly right now.

Another thing is blaming, “All these incidents with the OBA” on civil service acting on BS information is such a massive amount of BS that I almost reached from the smell of it coming out of your comment through my screen. Bet you’ve gotta wear thigh high muck boots when you type comments like that. If you believe that civil service stuck their hands up the minister’s backsides & moved their mouths when they literally broke election promises or that civil service did the same lip moving magic trick to Crockwell when he admitted that the premiers business manager was in government meetings than you must be waiting for a giant golden egg from the easter bunny this year.
