Photos: St. David’s Primary Hosts Science Expo
St. David’s Primary School held their Annual Science Expo earlier this week, with a host of projects on display from the school’s budding young scientists.
The Expo was opened by Principal, Mr. Gladstone Thompson and Science Teacher Leader Mrs. Rondelle Richardson. Mrs. Richardson thanked parents for their continued support and praised them and their children for producing wonderful projects.
Throughout the night, students demonstrated their expertise by explaining their projects to their parents, family and friends.
Mrs. Richardson said, “We were very pleased to have MP Lovitta Foggo and Senator Renee Ming in attendance. MP Foggo has been a loyal supporter of St. David’s Primary School and the Science Expo for many years. She praised and encouraged parents and students for a job well done.
“The projects were mandatory for all students from Primary One to Primary Six. Students were required to use the Scientific Method which included a question, hypothesis, procedures and or observations, materials and a conclusion.
“Topics ranged from dissolving liquids, chemical reactions, circuits, friction, plants, the humans skeletal system, types of materials and their uses and so much more.”
The staff and students received a mention in the House of Assembly this Friday [Feb 28], with St David’s MP Lovitta Foggo extending her congratulations to St David’s Primary following their Science Expo.
St. David’s Primary is one of a few schools who hosted a science fair this week, you can see coverage of Purvis Primary School’s 13th Annual Science Fair here, and Elliot Primary School’s Science Fair here.
