Smith & Hawley Compete In Florida Triathlon

Tyler Smith and Erica Hawley represented Bermuda in the Sarasota-Bradenton Pan American Triathlon Confederation Sprint Championships in Tampa, Florida.

Smith finished 57th in the Junior Men’s 16 – 19 Age Group Division clocking a time of 59:42.4. He came out of the water in 42nd place, completing the 750m swim with a time of 9:48. Smith clocked a time of 29:20 during the 19.3K bike ride falling down to 55th. Smith’s 5K run time of 18:49 saw him overtaken by two other athletes to finish in 57th.

Hawley finished 39th overall with a time of 1:06:57.6 competing in the Junior Women’s 16 – 19 Age Group. Hawley was 37th out of the water clocked a time of 10:55 during the 750m swim, she then clocked 33:08 on the 19.3K bike ride falling down to 41st and then she completed the 5K Run Course in a time of 21:38 moving up two spots for her finish.
