Bermuda Netball Players Off To Winning Start
The combined youth team of Bermuda and St. Marten started off with a win on Monday [Apr 7] in Antigua & Barbuda where they are playing in the development division of the Jean Pierre Netball Tournament.
Representing Bermuda are Satashie Rogers, Zaji Smith and Zakiyah Durham, while Kimale Evans is the coach and Bermuda Netball Association representative.
In their opening game the combined youth team defeated Nevis 39 – 2. Satashie Rogers was the goal shooter, scoring 12 goals in the game. Rogers had 3 goals in the first quarter from 5 attempts and a total of 6 goals at half time after scoring another 3 goals in the second quarter from 7 shots.
The combined youth team’s goal attack, Kyan Francis, had 20 goals at the break as they held a 26 – 2 lead.
Three more goals came in the third quarter for Rogers taking her total to 9 and then she closed out with another 3 goals in the final quarter to finish the game with 12 goals from 20 attempts. Francis finished with 25 goals and Zenita Browne had 2 goals.
