New Hamilton Princess Marina To Open In July

April 15, 2014

As part of the $90 million redevelopment, the Green Family, owners of The Fairmont Hamilton Princess, today announced that the new marina will open in mid-July.

The new state-of-the-art marina will have up to 60 permanent berths available for locals who are interested in marina facilities in Hamilton Harbour. There will be additional space available for visiting craft of all sizes including super yachts.

It will be the only full service marina in Bermuda with integrated pump-out facilities, custom electrical service and water distribution. Floating docks have high freeboard and are concrete for permanence and stability.

Full length fingers offer berth sizes ranging from 25 to 75 feet and are available on annual leases with the option of monthly payments. Service will be available from the hotel and includes ice, food and beverage, alcohol, picnic hampers and more.

Next to the marina, a 50 feet x 50 feet new gazebo-style bar and grill, ‘1609’, will have spectacular dining right at the water’s edge with panoramic views of Two Rock Passage to Hamilton. The bar and grill will service both hotel guests and locals, as well as boaters, and is scheduled to open in May.

Alexander Green, on behalf of the Green Family, says: “We are delighted that the renovations of the marina are nearing completion. Since we became owners of the hotel, we pledged to rejuvenate the property and we believe the new marina, along with the other renovations, will do just that.”

Andrew Green, on behalf of the Green Family, comments: “Berth holders will be able to call up ahead and arrange to have their coolers stocked with drinks, snacks, ice and picnic hampers so that when they arrive they are ready to depart for the day. We are determined to raise the standard of service in Bermuda and do everything we can to improve the Bermuda experience.”

Boat owners who are interested in a permanent berth may contact Berco Limited on 295-4537 or by contacting Maryann Byrne at maryann@greenaap.bm.

Very pleased to see this finished so quickly and professionally. This is how things are done in the private sector. Clean, neat, tidy and on time. Well done.

  2. Commodore of BBIRYC JB says:

I hope this marina is bigger than what Hamilton currently has to offer because I would like somewhere to dock my mega yacht.

  3. Terry says:

Did you not see the Mega Yacht tied up alongside?

If you can’t come alongside at Princess you can always anchor off in the hole from Salt Kettle to Whites Island or just hang out where the freighters dock.
    Jingus.
Or….you could stay on yah moorings in Baileys Bay If Rip Yardy Currents are ok.

    I need a rum.

  4. yello says:

This is wonderful news. This will hopefully attract more visitors to the island who own private vessels and will put Bermuda on the map for a yachting destination

  5. Smiths says:

any bets on the cost of one of the permanent berths? 150K-200K?

  6. Happy says:

The Green family are bringing a bit of needed glamour back to our beautiful island. My only criticism is they have taken quite the conservative approach to the architecture of the recent building projects. This of course is a matter of personal preference but it would make additional headlines and bring our community into the future with innovative design as well. If anyone can do it in Bermuda they can. Keep up the positive progress!

    Excellent for Bermuda !
