Anna Francoeur Wins CTY Math Olympiad

The Centre for Talented Youth Bermuda hosted its 10th annual Math Olympiad yesterday [Apr 27], bringing together some of the island’s best and brightest students as they competed by solving mathematics problems.

Following a hard fought competition, the overall winner was Anna Francoeur from Warwick Academy, a M1 student who presented a perfect paper in the contest. She received a cash gift of $2,000 dollar from Dr. Sean Ringsted, Chief Risk Officer and Actuarial Officer from the ACE group of companies.

The 10th Annual Math Olympiad was held from 1.00pm through 3.30pm on Sunday, April 27 at the Berkeley Institute, with the awards ceremony taking place at 6.00pm.

The competition, arranged and presented by The Centre for Talented Youth Bermuda [CTY], intends to narrow down Bermuda’s most gifted mathematicians in both middle and high school, promoting important mathematics curriculum in the process.
