Zikai Cann’s Murder Trial Set For June 2nd
The trial for Zikai Cann — who is charged in connection with the 2009 murder of Garry “Fingas” Cann — has been set for June 2nd. This new date was set during yesterday’s [Apr 1] Supreme Court Monthly Arraignment Session.
The defendant’s lawyer Charles Richardson asked that there should be no further delays in this matter, saying that his client has been in custody since 2012. Mr. Cann, 25, has denied the charges.
Earlier this week a second man, 38 year old Jermaine Simmons, was also charged with the murder of Mr. Cann. Both men have been remanded in custody.

Cann is innocent! Free the innocent man!
If this young man is innocent there should be consequences for this abhorrent delay in proceedings, the police service cannot be allowed to abduct a citizen based on a weak case, the judiciary cannot allow this precedent to be set, it will create a slippery slope regarding human rights if the police as an extension of gov is allowed to get away with this unscathed.
This system is bad!!! No man should wait 2 years for a trail. They keep charging people to hold them up westgate obviously without sufficient evidence!!!
