KEMH Ground Floor Partial Closure On May 10
The ground floor of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital [KEMH] will be partially closed beginning on Saturday, May 10, as construction continues on the new Acute Care Wing.
A spokesperson said, “Bermuda Hospitals Board would like to inform the public that construction works of the Acute Care Wing will necessitate the closure of a portion of the ground floor corridor between the Continuing Care Unit [CCU] and the main lobby of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital this weekend.
“This section of the corridor will be closed for approximately four weeks.
“BHB advises the public to use the main KEMH entrance for all hospital services to avoid inconvenience. Those who have to access the hospital from the CCU Point Finger Road entrance will be directed to take the CCU elevator to the first floor, walk along the corridor, and use the main elevator bank or stairwell to access all hospital services.
“Currently there is a partial closure on the first floor of the hospital. The ground floor will not close until the first floor has been re-opened. These works are scheduled to take place this weekend. Clear signage will be posted in the hospital to help guide the public.
“BHB and contractors Paget Health Services apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
