Kiwanis Donates $1,040 For KEMH Neonatal

The Kiwanis Berkeley Institute Key Club has donated $1,040 dollars to help the Bermuda Hospitals Board [BHB] purchase neonatal equipment for the Emergency Department in the new acute care wing of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital [KEMH].

The Berkeley Institute Key Club held grub days to help its sponsoring Kiwanis Club of Hamilton in this joint venture to raise funds.

The latest BHB update on the progress being made on the construction of the new acute care wing highlighted patient wards nearing completion, with the acute care wing expected to open for public use in September 2014.

A BHB spokesperson said, ““The new wing is state-of-the-art and has features that support improvements in patient care. Each ward can accommodate 30 patients. Cared for in single patient suites, clinical staff will be able to maintain patient privacy in carrying out their duties.”
