No. 1 Car Park Will Be Closed On Friday

May 1, 2014

The paving of the westbound lane of Front Street in Hamilton will necessitate the closing of the No. 1 car park tomorrow [May 2] from 6.00am through 6.00pm.

A spokesperson said, “The City of Hamilton wishes to advise all motorists, businesses, and the general public that No. 1 car park will be closed from 6.00am until 6.00pm on Friday, May 2, 2014.

“Taxi operators should note that the taxi rank outside No. 1 car park will also be closed for the duration.

“This is to allow for the safe working of the crew who are paving the west bound lane of Front Street from Burnaby Street to No. 1 shed crosswalk.

“The city wishes to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.

“Any questions regarding the closure should be directed to Ian Hind, Senior Engineer via telephone at 279-5250 or via email at ihind@cityhall.bm.”

Congratulations to the Corporation for once again sticking it to the retail and office workers and owners (who pay your salary) clearly you have no regard for any of us, the letters S and Su that you see on the calendar that hangs on your wall represents the two days of a weekend, one of which most of us are closed, this would be the time you should disrupt us to this degree, but given your past performance and “engineering skills” to date I guess this is the best we can expect.

Who in their right mind thought that it was a good idea to start paving works on Front Street not only in the middle of the week, but also during the start of the tourist season?
