Welcome The Summer Months With Soul-stice

May 17, 2014

The Adult Education School, in conjunction with the Chewstick Foundation, will be celebrating the summer solstice and its marking of the official start of summer with its Summer Soul-stice event on June 21, 2014.

Featuring a “Bermudaful night of local art, cuisine, and entertainment,” the celebration will take place at the Pier 6 Complex on Front Street in Hamilton. The event will get underway from 6.30pm through 8.00pm with an art auction and Bermuda cocktail reception, with live entertainment set to take over from 8.00pm through midnight.

A spokesperson said, “Begin the night by enjoying signature Bermuda cocktails and the sounds of Paul Smith on steel pan. Participate in our wonderful silent auction that will showcase works from many local artists along with other unique and interesting items.”

“Follow the Gombeys to the main tent and enjoy the sunset over Hamilton Harbour while indulging in a casual chic menu featuring favourite local dishes.

“Live entertainment will include music from Gita Blakeney-Saltus, Shine Hayward, Paul Smith, and Fire and Ice. A cash bar will be available following the opening cocktail reception.”

“Tickets cost $125 and are currently available at ptix.bm. All proceeds will support educational and arts programmes and AES Opportunity Scholarships. Help us transform lives and build a better Bermuda through education and the arts.”
