Day #2: ITF Junior Tennis Tournament Results
The Bank of Bermuda Foundation ITF Junior Tennis Tournament continued at the WER Joell Tennis Stadium.
In Girls Singles 18 Qualifying action, Georgina Sanders from Great Britain defeated Alexandra Noback from the United States of America in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
Girls Under 14 Round-Robin Group 2 action Kayla Ming won her three matches in in straight sets, she defeated Maria Ramirez from Mexico 4-0, 4-0, she then defeated Bermuda’s Kaila Harvey 4-0, 4-0 and then she closed out defeating Alexcie Burrows also from Bermuda 4-0, 4-0.
Ramirez won her other two games in straight sets 4-0, 4-0 over Harvey and Burrows.
In Group 1, Imani Phillips needed a third set tie-breaker to defeat Sifa Butcher from the United States of America. Butcher won the first set 4-2, but Phillips won the second set 4-1, Phillips would then win the tie-breaker 1-0.
Phillips would also win her other two group matches, she defeated Lauren Way 4-2, 4-0 and then she defeated Shelby Madeiros 4-0, 4-0.
Ricky Mallory III won his Boys Under 14 Round-Robin Group, he defeated Dylan Carne from Canada in straight sets 4-0, 4-0, he then defeated fellow Bermudian Tyler Trott in straight sets 4-0, 4-0.
