Tennis: Bermuda Win Davis Cup Second Match

Bermuda defeated Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 during their second Davis Cup Americas Zone Group III Round Robin match in Puerto Rico.

Gavin Manders defeated Vaughn Wilson in a three set battle, Manders won the first set 6-3, Wilson won the second set 7-5, but Manders then closed out the match winning the third and final set 6-1.

David Thomas won his match in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 defeating Javier Lewis. Neal Towlson and Jenson Bascome then teamed up and defeated the Trinidad pair Lewis and Akiel Duke in straight sets 6-1, 6-1

To begin play, Bermuda took on host nation Puerto Rico and lost 3 – 0. Gavin Manders went down in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 to Gabriel Flores Ruiz, while David Thomas went down in straight sets 6-4, 6-0 to Alex Llompart. The Bermuda team of Neal Towlson and Jenson Bascome went down in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 to Christian Garay and Gilberto Alvarez.
