A spokesperson said, “Initially, it was agreed upon that a sum of $4,000 would be awarded. The two individuals interviewed were both outstanding candidates showing a great passion for what they are studying and what they can do as engineers in the future.”
“Therefore we asked our membership if they wouldn’t mind if we awarded another $2,000 to the other applicant interviewed.”
The BAPE Scholarship Committee consisted of Philip Watson, Daniele Bortoli, and Stephanie Adderley.
“BAPE is committed to promoting the advancement of engineering in Bermuda. We are also going to be holding an engineering competition next year in February, during the U.S. National Engineers Week.
“All young engineers in Bermuda are encouraged to ‘like’ the Bermuda Young Engineers Society on Facebook.”
