Couple Remain In Hospital After Camp Collision

The couple who were injured when a car driver crashed into a Cup Match camp site this weekend remain in hospital, with the 44 year old woman on a general ward, while her 51 year old husband is in stable condition in the ICU.

A police spokesperson said, “At last check earlier today, the 51 year old Warwick man and the 44 year old Warwick woman injured after a car went off the road along Kindley Field Road in St. George’s, colliding with unoccupied parked cars as well as the couple’s tent around 5:50am Saturday, August 2nd were both recovering in hospital. The male victim was at the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition while his wife has been moved to a general ward.”

In addition, the 18 year old Paget man injured in a reported serious single vehicle motorcycle collision along Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Granaway Heights Road around 7:40pm Friday, August 1st has since been discharged from the hospital.

The police also noted that the 28 year old Warwick woman injured when the motorcycle she was riding collided with a taxi along Parsons Road on Saturday night is recovering at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.

“The male taxi driver and female taxi passenger also injured in this collision had less serious wounds. He was treated at the hospital and later discharged while her injuries apparently did not require hospital treatment,” a police spokesperson said.

    My condolences to the family. I don’t know all the circumstances involved and I find it inappropriate to speculate on the young man who was arrested in connection with this. I pray that God gives the family of the victim comfort.
