Mirrors Programme To Host Open House
The Minister of Community, Culture and Sports Wayne Scott has revealed that the Mirrors Programme will be hosting an open house on August 29, 2014 from 10.00am through 6.00pm.
The theme for this year’s open house is “Voices of the Community, Transforming Our Community One Person at a Time.”
Minister Scott said, “The public is in for a real treat as once again the Mirrors Programme opens its doors so that the community can get involved with a programme that has a proven track record and has improved the lives of more than 700 young people in Bermuda.”
“After the success of last year’s open house, it was decided to open our doors to the broader community again this year,” explained Mirrors Coordinator Kim Jackson.
“It’s an opportunity for the public to meet the staff, learn about the organization’s development, refer young adults, hear testimonies of those who have been involved with the organization in various capacities, and also learn about volunteer opportunities within the organization.”
A spokesperson said, “In alignment with this year’s theme, young adult participants, workshop participants, school representatives, parents and volunteers will be on hand to provide a snap shot of what their involvement with the organization has been like and how it has impacted their lives.
“In addition, Mirrors Programme staff members will be on hand to provide information about different areas of the programme.
“After attendees have finished exploring the programme, there is an opportunity to participate in a quiz about the organization to win prizes.”
The open house will take place on Friday, August 29 at the Mirrors Programme office, located in Global House at 43 Church Street in Hamilton.
