Nahki Wells & Huddersfield Defeat Reading 2-1
Nahki Wells and Huddersfield Town took on Reading FC today [Aug 19], winning by a score of 2-1.
Huddersfield scored first at the 12 minute mark with a goal from Jacob Butterfield as he pounced on a short pass from Hector, raced into the clear, and then curled a shot home.
Within minutes of the goal, Reading pressed to even things up as winger Blackman collected a deep corner and got a shot on net, but Smithies was able to make the stop.
At the 38 minute mark, Town’s Harry Bunn made a good play, shrugging off Gunter and advancing before firing low into the bottom corner of the net, putting his team up 2-0 going into the half.
At the 62 minute mark, Nahki Wells was almost able to get into the scoring action, with a low ball from Dixon cutting out just before it reached him.
Nine minutes later, Reading was able to pull within one goal. A few frantic moments followed, with Reading managing to hit the crossbar, but Huddersfield was able to hold on to win the game by a score of 2-1.
