Premier Wishes Troika Well With Latest Play
The Premier and Minister of National Security Michael Dunkley today [Aug 27] extended his support and well wishes to Troika Bermuda in advance of their upcoming production of Beauty and the Beast, which kicks off tomorrow evening [Aug 28].
Troika’s modern take on the Academy-Award winning animated classic will include all of the songs written by acclaimed musical theatre and film composer Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.
In true Troika tradition, this week’s show will feature talented young Bermudians who are poised to excite local audiences with their performances at the Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts.
The Premier, who recently supported Troika Bermuda’s tag day fund raising efforts, will attend tomorrow’s opening night of the production and is encouraging residents to come out and show their support for the group.

Premier Dunkley said, “I am always pleased when I have the opportunity to celebrate local talent. There are so many bright lights in Bermuda today, but few shine as brightly as Troika Bermuda.
“Troika’s productions have caught the attention of so many people here at home and abroad because they showcase brilliant, young Bermudians stepping out into the big world with talent, style and confidence.
“As a fan of Troika, I am looking forward to their latest production – Beauty and the Beast. And I want to offer my best wishes to all who make Troika work – both behind the scenes and before the footlights. They make us all proud.”
Troika’s production of Beauty and the Beast begins tomorrow evening [Aug 28] and concludes on August 30. For more information about the production, visit online.
