Woman In ICU After Taxi & Motorcycle Collision
[Updated] A female motorcyclist is in the Intensive Care Unit following a collision between her motorcycle and a taxi last night [Aug 2] on Parsons Road.
A police spokesperson said, “First responders attended a report of a road traffic collision between a motorcycle and a taxi, that took place on Parsons Road near Deep Dale West at 11:28pm last night.
“It appears that the taxi was travelling west on Parsons Road and the cyclist was travelling east, when the female rider lost control of cycle and collided with the taxi.
“The female on the cycle is currently in ICU with leg, internal and facial injures, while the taxi driver received cuts and abrasions to his leg, and one of the passengers in the taxi received cuts to her leg.
“Police are appealing to witnesses or anyone who may have seen this collision to please contact police on 2950011.”
Update August 4, 5.39pm: A police spokesperson said, “At last check earlier today, the 28 year old Warwick woman injured when the motorcycle she was riding collided with a taxi along Parsons Road near the junction with Deepdale Road West in Pembroke around 11:30pm Saturday, August 2nd was recovering at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.
“The male taxi driver and female taxi passenger also injured in this collision had less serious wounds. He was treated at the hospital and later discharged while her injuries apparently did not require hospital treatment.”
