2013 ICT Communication Technology Report

The Department of Statistics released the 2013 Information and Communications Technology [ICT] Report today, which showed that the ICT sector contributed 4.1% to Bermuda’s GDP, or $229 million, a decline of 3% from 2012.

The report also indicated that there were 838 ICT-related jobs in 2013, the same as in 2012, 89% of all businesses use computers during their daily operations and 56% of businesses reported having a web presence.

Highlights from the report:

  • The ICT sector contributed 4.1 per cent to Bermuda’s GDP, or $229 million.
  • There were 838 ICT-related jobs in 2013, the same as in 2012.
  • 89 per cent of all businesses use computers during their daily operations.
  • Imports of ICT goods and services fell to $112.4 million in 2013.
  • Exports of ICT services decreased to $80.7 million.
  • Capital investment in ICT goods totaled $70 million.

    as all sectors of the economy continue to decline the Government continues to borrow $276Million this year to keep the Government going.
    The longer we leave it the worse it will get.
    OVERDUE time for a balanced budget.
