Cally Blankendal Wins Denham MVP Award
Bermuda’s Cally Blankendal has received the ‘Managers Player Award’ [MVP] for the 2013/14 season with Denham United Ladies F.C in the United Kingdom.
She was presented with the award upon her return to the UK to commence her second year in boarding school.
Having played 12 out of 17 matches due to injury and overseas travel, she had a season ranking of 7.3 the highest average on her team. This led to her being called up for the U16 division on a few occasions to gain experience at the next level.
The team had very challenging season having only 14 players on the roster with a few international students [absent due to travel during school breaks].
Cally enjoyed her first year at Denham and is eager to return but will have to sit on the sidelines until November. She is currently receiving physio treatment on her ankle and knee due to and end of season injury during a tournament.
Locally, the 15 year old played for Dandy Stars and for the Bermuda’s Brazilian Football School ladies touring team.
Well done Cally… So proud of you!
We are very proud of you and just make sure you excel in your academic courses.
