Fairmont To Host Taxi Driver Open House

September 8, 2014

Allan C. FedererOn Wednesday, September 10, The Fairmont Hamilton Princess will host an open house for Bermuda taxi drivers.

The all-day event will run from 8:30am – 4pm and will give taxi drivers the opportunity to tour the hotel and see the renovations to date, enjoy some refreshments and get up-to-date information on the hotel.

“Many of the taxi drivers are like extended family,” says Allan Federer [pictured], general manager of The Fairmont Hamilton Princess.

“They provide a wealth of information to our visitors and we are truly grateful for the service that they provide to Bermuda, particularly in the tourism industry.

“We thought that an open house would be a fun way to thank them for everything they do for us and for the island and to give them a sneak peak of the phase two renovations to ensure they have the latest information about the hotel.”

Taxi drivers can show up at any time during the open house hours. Hotel tours will be given every 30 minutes and there’s no need to register.

Good luck Mr Federer. Sometime ago the tourboat operators of the Chamber of Commerce had a floating trade show at the Flagpole.

Taxi drivers, hotel staff, anyone connected with tourism were invited. Very few taxi drivers showed. Too narrow minded to see that promoting tourboats is good for their business. People need transport to get to the boats. Some taxi drivers even expected to be paid to show up for the show.

    Unbelievable but true.
