Grief Counseling Provided After Teen’s Death
Following the death of 16-year-old student Shijuan Mungal, the Department of Education has confirmed that several schools have provided additional grief counseling and support services for students.
A statement from the Department of Education said, “The Acting Commissioner of Education, Dr Lou Matthews, on behalf of the Department has this afternoon extended condolences to the family of Shijuan Mungal.

The statement added, “Shijuan was a student in the Bermuda Public School system. Shijuan leaves many classmates mourning his death. Several schools have provided additional grief counseling and support services for students.”
31-year-old Kiahna Edwards appeared in Court today, where she was charged with the murder of Shijuan Mungal. Ms Edwards was granted bail of $30,000 with two sureties and is expected to re-appear at a later date.

Praying for both sides. It’s a sad situation
Sad, tragic and heartbreaking for all involved.
My heart and prayers go out to the family of Shijuan. There can be no greater pain than burying one’s child, let alone an only child. I pray that you will find peace and comfort in the ultimate comforter, healer and redeemer. Know that his plan cannot be questioned and have faith in his Will. I hold you up today and each day.
