Making A Strike With Birthday Bowl-A-Thon

Stephanie Lee, a local entrepreneur, has  decided to turn her birthday celebration into a Bowl-a-thon Fundraiser.

Ms. Lee said, “In considering how I wanted to celebrate my birthday, I thought about one of the best birthday celebrations I’ve had. A group of friends, my family and I celebrated with a bowling party.

“Having worked in the non-profit industry previously, and continue to work with a number of charities and non-profits, I understand the struggle to do more for the community with less financial support.

“Combining the thoughts, I decided to turn my birthday celebration into a Bowl-a-thon Fundraiser. The purpose and goal is to raise funds for worthy groups, and have a little fun celebrating life. We will have competitions with prizes to make it fun and interesting.”

The goal of the Bowl-a-thon Fundraiser is to raise $5000 in support of Bermuda’s Charitable organizations; including PRIDE Bermuda, Chewstick, New Beginnings, Educational Trust, ArtWalk, Bermuda Shakespeare Schools Festival, and the Centre on Philanthropy.

Ms. Lee continued, “Each of these organizations has impacted my life in some way, whether by providing a foundation and learning environment in my youth, or allowed the opportunity for me to expand my career as an adult. I want to do my part to help them continue their work, and positively impact another life.”

“I am reaching out to the community to help reach this goal. Many hands make light work. If 100 people are able to donate $50, the $5000 goal is reached.”

The Bowl-a-thon will be held at Strykz Bowling Lounge on September 28. Registration is $40 and includes bowling, shoes, and food.
