Masterworks Calls For Art Prize Submissions
Masterworks is inviting the public to celebrate Bermuda’s maritime heritage by participating in The Marine Art Prize, set to take place from October 10 to October 22, 2014.
Their latest newsletter said, “In 2012, St. Peter’s Church celebrated its 400th anniversary and was granted the title “Their Majesties Chappell” by Her Majesty The Queen.
“The intituling document, signed by the Queen, was hand carried to Bermuda and presented to the Church by Mr. David Baldwin, Serjeant of the Vestry of the Chapel Royal.
“Mr. Baldwin also donated to St. Peter’s Church a handsome trophy cup inscribed, “The Serjeant’s Cup for Marine Art”.
“This cup will be awarded to the winner of the Marine Art Exhibition, sponsored by The Friends of St. Peter’s Church, with an awards ceremony taking place at Masterworks on October 17.
“The last day of submission is Monday, September 29.
“Special thanks to award sponsors The Friends of St. Peter’s Church, St. George’s Foundation, Bermuda Sloop Foundation, National Museum of Bermuda, JustAddWater, Kodak Express, Frameworks, Crisson and Hind, and Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art.”
