“Spirit Of The Ocean” Art Show In June

The Bermuda Sloop Foundation will host a “Spirit of the Ocean” Art Show June 6-28 at Masterworks.

“This fundraiser will benefit the public Middle School Sail Training Programme for Bermuda’s youth. A free event, starting at 5:30pm on June 6th, with a Live Auction, refreshments and appetizers. The public is invited to attend this inaugural event which will feature professional and amateur artists,” a spokesperson said.

“Each public middle school student is offered the opportunity to spend 5 days and 4 nights on the Tall Ship, Spirit of Bermuda. Delivering a first-class Character Education Programme, using a tall ship designed after the schooners that our ancestors built in the 1800′s, Spirit has provided life-changing experiences to more than 4,000 young people by way of school, summer and overseas voyages.

“Community support is important to the success of our sail training programme. We hope to auction off all the items but those that don’t will be on display for purchase until June 28th.”
