79 Yr Old Female Pedestrian Hit By Motorcycle
A 79-year-old woman was taken to hospital yesterday [Sept 10] after being struck by a motorcycle while attempting to cross South Road in Devonshire, with police reporting that, as of this morning, she is in stable condition.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 8.50am on Wednesday, September 10, first responders were dispatched to a reported collision on South Road in Devonshire near the junction with Devonshire Bay Road.
“It appears that a motorcycle being ridden along South Road collided with a female pedestrian attempting to cross the road.
“The victim, a 79-year-old Devonshire woman, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for medical assessment. At last check this morning [Sept 11], she was in stable condition on a general ward. There were no other injuries reported.
“Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Matthew Kemmenoe at the Hamilton Police Station on 247-1704.”‘
This is the second time this month a senior citizen has been injured in an incident like this, following after another 79 year old woman was struck by a car while walking on Middle Road in Southampton on Sept. 4th.

Wow, interesting. Not surprised, it was an accident bound to happen. Some people hardly slow down there, even when the light is blinking.
I’ve also seen a motorbike overtake a line of traffic at full speed, almost hitting a pedestrian on that crossing.

The Government of Bermuda needs to trim over grown road side vegetation and charge the owner of the land as vehicles driving closer to the center line it is a ” Game of Chicken” out there.
The fitting description for our unconscionable road warriors on a mission is “Psychopath” as it relates to a mental illness, having an insatiable desire to be ” King of the road”.
Onus is on the person in a vehicle which can cause serious harm, to pay even more attention to their surroundings.
Hoping the person injured is able to recover safely and swiftly.
