Willow Cuts, Rangers In Lindo’s T20 Final

Willow Cuts and Southampton Rangers advanced to the Lindo’s Twenty20 final following play yesterday [Sept 27] which saw Willow Cuts defeat St. David’s, and Southampton Rangers defeating Bailey’s Bay.

The finals were supposed to be played today, however the Bermuda Cricket Board postponed them, citing a “heightened security risk, subsequent to recent incidents.”

In a statement sent out following yesterday’s shooting, the BCB said, “Due to advice regarding a heightened security risk, subsequent to recent incidents, the Lindos T20 and the BF&M U17 All-Star game, scheduled to take place on Sunday 28 September at SCC, have both been postponed until further notice.”

Willow Cuts Win by 2 Wickets : St. David’s 146/5 Willow Cuts 147/8

At Lord’s in St. David’s, Willow Cuts won the toss with St. David’s forfeiting the toss, they sent the home team to bat. St. David’s were restricted to 146/5 in their allotted 20 overs, Loren Marshall was the top scorer with 35, while both Fiqre Crockwell and OJ Pitcher scored 31, Crockwell opened the inning and was not out. Deunte Darrell was the pick of the Willow Cuts bowlers with figures of 3-0-20-2.

In reply Willow Cuts scored 147/8 after 19.5 overs, Ricardo Brangman was the top scorer with 43 not out, while Chris Douglas added 36 and Malachi Jones added 33. Kevin Hurdle was the pick of the St. David’s Cricket Club bowlers with figures of 4-0-25-2.

Southampton Rangers Win by 5 Wickets : Bailey’s Bay 34 Southampton Rangers 35/5

Bailey’s Bay won the toss and elected to bat, they were bowled all out for 34, player/coach Irving Romaine was the top scorer with 11, while Coolidge Durham added 7 not out, Vernon Eve was the pick of the Southampton Rangers bowlers with figures of 3.2-3-5-4, while Dion Stovell bowled 3-0-4-2 and Derrick Brangman bowled 2-1-7-2.

In reply Bailey’s Bay had the Southampton Rangers 4/4 with Stovell, Janeiro Tucker and Alex Dore all back in the pavilion, but Brangman was able to steady the ship before he was out for 15, Gerald Simons added 10 not out. Kyle Hodsoll led the Bailey’s Bay bowling attack with figures of 4-1-7-3.
