Argus Now Paying Claims For Fay And Gonzalo
The Argus Group yesterday [Oct 20] revealed that it had already started making payments for claims from both Tropical Storm Fay and Hurricane Gonzalo. The company reported that it received claims all weekend regarding damages from the storms.
Within one hour of opening their offices on Saturday [Oct 18] morning, Argus representatives visited customer homes to assist clients and assess damages.
The five loss adjusters that the company brought in will remain on the island until all claims have been reviewed.
The Argus Claims Hurricane Hotline remains open at 298-0888 for queries relating to any damage caused by Hurricane Gonzalo. Clients can also reach customer service representatives on 295-2021. Claims can be filed via email at insurance@argus.bm.
Alison Hill, Chief Executive Officer of the Argus Group said, “More than 30 Argus employees were working over the weekend to ensure all client queries were addressed in a timely manner.
“Our focus today and throughout the week is on making payments as quickly as possible in order to help our clients rebuild following the hurricane.”
In order to process claims more quickly, Argus advises clients to take pictures of damages to property resulting from the hurricane and further to obtain estimates for repair work before signing any contracts and never to pay for the entire repair upfront. Clients should instead wait until the repairs are complete.
