October 25, 2014

The Bermuda Insurance Institute [BII] and the Risk Prediction Initiative [RPI2.0] will be collaborating again this year to provide seminar focused on Catastrophe Risk. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2014.

Internationally relevant topics discussed will include: tsunami and storm surge, surging seas, and flooding. Additionally, there will be a post mortem discussion on Tropical Storm Fay and Hurricane Gonzalo.

Dr. Mark Guishard, Program Manager of the Risk Prediction Initiative at BIOS said, “We are very pleased to once again deliver a high impact scientific program that informs the industry with insight into water-related natural hazards. I am personally also looking forward to discussing some conclusions [some of them surprising] about Bermuda’s recent impact by two storms in rapid succession, based on the data collected.”

Dr. Dawnnelle Walker, CEO of the BII said, “Catastrophe Risk is a relevant topic. Providing local audiences with world class scientific information aligns with our objectives. Partnering with RPI 2.0 is beneficial for our organizations and our members”.

Persons interested in attending can register at www.bii.bm or call Dr. Walker at 295-1596 for more information.
