Diabetes Association To Host “Beary Picnic”

The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum, and Zoo is getting set to host A Very Beary Picnic, an event for children in support of diabetes education.

The event will be held today [Nov 22] from 10.30am to 12.30pm in the Bermuda Aquarium’s Discovery Room.

A spokesperson said, “As part of the Bermuda Diabetes Association’s ongoing programming and education initiatives, and in support of Diabetes Awareness Month, we are excited to introduce Jerry the Bear— an innovative and interactive diabetes education tool for children with Type 1 Diabetes.”

“A fun day is sure to be had by exploring the aquarium, having a special picnic lunch, and getting to know a beary good pal.

“We’re looking forward to seeing you.

“We are also pleased to have two of Jerry’s creators, Hannah Chung and Aaron Horowitz, on the island to host a special training session with four type 1 children and their families at this event.”
