Explore Bermuda’s World Heritage Forts Tour
The ‘Defenders Of Bermuda: World Heritage Forts Tour’ will take place on Kings Square in St. George’s on Wednesday and Saturday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, offering people the opportunity to learn about the island’s people, stories and fortifications.
The promotional flyer said, “The tours promise to allow you to imagine yourself defending Bermuda as you hop on the train to travel to Gates Fort and Alexandra Battery. Visitors will travel around the UNESCO World Heritage Site and learn about its people, stories and fortifications.
“At their last fort stop, visitors will be provided with lanterns to explore the mysterious hallways of Fort St. Catherine to see first-hand its treasures, magnificent structures, and the artillery that protected our island shores for over 400 years.
“Tickets can be purchased at the St. George’s Visitor Information Centre, with all participants to meet at King’s Square. The entry fee is $25 for adults and $10 for children, with no cost for children 5-years-old and under.
“There will be no tour on December 24, 2014 and December 31, 2014 due to the holiday season.”
