New Short Course Swim Records Confirmed
The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association have updated their Short Course Meter Records following the 2014 Burlington Open and the Millfield & Taunton Super Series.
2014 Burlington Open – Burlington, Ontario, Canada
Boys 8 & Under
Elijah Daley set a new 100m Breaststroke record touching the wall in a time of 1:48.59, breaking the record that has stood for 32 years of 1:50.48 set by Sam Keyes on November 1st, 1982.
Daley also set a new 100m Individual Medley record with a time of 1:36.59, breaking the record of 1:36.73 set by Mitchell Gariepy on June 6th, 2008.
Girls 9 & 10
Elan Daley set a new 50m Breaststroke record clocking 39.98, breaking the record of 40.54 set by Naomi Vides on June 10th, 2005.
Millfield & Taunton Super Series –Millfield, Somerset, England
Girls 13 & 14
Emma Harvey is now the 100m Butterfly record holder after clocking a time of 1:06.97, breaking the record 14 year record of 1:10.53 set by Ashley Aitken on May 1st, 2000.
Harvey then broke a 26 year old record in the 400m Individual Medley when she touched the wall in a time of 5:30.68, breaking the record of 5:34.97 set by Jennifer Smatt on June 1st, 1988.
