Basketball: Hawks, Thunder Cats, Fly Girls Win
The CellOne Island Basketball League continued inside the Cedarbridge Academy Gymnasium with a women’s double-header and a single men’s division match.
The evening got underway with the Lady Hawks defeating the Court Queens 26 – 9, Tashe Thompson scored a game high 7 points to lead the Lady Hawks to victory, while Tashe Gibbons scored 4 points for the Court Queens.
The Men’s Division match was next on the court with the Thunder Cats defeating the Cross Fire Ballers 61 – 50. Chris Crumpler scored a game high 18 points for the Thunder Cats, while Jason Simons scored 11 points for the Cross Fire Ballers.
The final game of the evening was the Women’s Division match that saw the Fly Girls defeat the Pink Panthers 37 – 11. Diskaurys Trew scored 11 points for the Fly Girls, while Andrea Berkley scored 4 points for the Pink Panthers.
