Patriots Win 2014 Bermuda Squash Challenge
The Bermuda Challenge Squash Tournament concluded this weekend with the Patriots out of New England defeating the Three Racketeers from Bermuda 5 – 4.
The Patriots took a 3 – 0 lead when Thomas Hedemann defeated Nick Brewer 3 – 0, he won 15-10, 15-10, 15-6.
The scores were level at 3 – 3 after the second game that saw Murray Brewer defeat Richard Von Hirschberg 3-0. Brewer recorded wins of 15-6, 15-8, 15-11.
It all came down to the third match featuring Bobby Dearington from the Patriots and Greg Fitzgerald from Bermuda.
Dearington won the first game 15-7 giving the Patriots a 4 – 3 lead, but Fitzgerald would add drama to the match by winning the second set 15-11 leveling the match at 4 – 4, Dearington would win it all for the visitors winning the third game 15-12.
