Tribute Concert To Be Held For Dr Neil Burnie

November 18, 2014

The “Neil Burnie Bad Ass Tribute” concert will be hosted at Pier 6 on November 22, 2014 from 7.30pm, with live music starting at 8.00pm.

The well-known veterinarian died following a marine accident on November 11th, and was buried at sea this past Sunday. In addition to his work with animals and ocean advocacy, Dr. Burnie was also involved in the music world, and played the saxophone.

The event notice said, “Our good friend Dr. Neil Burnie was all about giving. He freely shared his passion for the natural world as well as his music with anyone who would listen. So now we want to pay tribute to this adventurer, veterinarian, teacher, friend, companion, and musician.

“Please join us for a special night of live music with all the bands that Neil either was a part of or shared a stage with. Suggested donations on the door are $50 but any amount is appreciated! Proceeds go to the Neil Burnie Foundation.”

“Performers will perform: BONES, Duty Free, Homegrown, Life Sentence, The Big Days, Working Title, Kennel Boys, Gavin Djata Smith, Graffiti Park and Ray Pasen, while the MC for the night will be Uzimon.

“There are no tickets for Saturday’s event but donations are encouraged. There will be limited edition tribute T-shirts on sale. Doors open at 7.30pm and the music starts at 8pm.

“Donations to the Neil Burnie Foundation can be made to MJM Limited (BD$) Client Trust A/C #006 018279 002, or cheques made payable to MJM Limited Client Trust [in each case, reference Neil Burnie].”
