Bermuda San Shou President Garon Wilkinson said, “We’re down to our last week of preparation for the seventh Sanda World Cup in Jakarta, Indonesia.
“We’ve had another successful training camp and I think we’re raring to go. Jermal Woolridge, who received an automatic qualifying spot based on the criteria of the top four qualifying places, is currently in Canada finishing up his last bit of training before we head over to Jakarta.
“He will be facing athletes from Russia, Egypt and Sweden and he appears to be fully recovered from a slight back injury…he’s fit, strong and raring to go.
“Sentwali Woolridge was offered a spot by the International Wushu Federation based on his fifth placed performance at last year’s world championships in addition to his gold medal performance at the Pan American Championships in Costa Rica.
“He’s raring to go, and he had been dealing with a slight wrist injury that we’ve been nursing throughout the training camp. He’s been able to work around it and he’s been getting good physiotherapy treatment. We’re all ready to go. He will be facing China, Korea and Tunisia,” added Mr. Wilkinson.
Good luck!
