I have been recycling since it was first implemented.i have stopped recycling as of this date.
i try to keep my home looking nice since I live next to the main road.i painted my home this year and keep my grass trimmed, however I look across the road at the garbage dump that Jews bay public wharf has become.there is an outdoor table frame, car seats and every other Kind of trash you can think of.i have tried to contact The lady that I spoke to about this on numerous occasions but she has not returned my calls. is this what we want our visitors to see when they take a bus tour.i would also think that we do not want our Americas cup visitors to see this.My next step is to contact my mp.does anybody know how you can find a politician when it is not election time.
I’ve been watching that site since the dumpster was placed there some years back.
It’s shocking how members of the public have taken what was originally intended as a (KBB) convenience to Jews Bay boaters and turned it into a heavy waste disposal site.
Anyone with 10 functioning brain cells knows that items like used batteries , paint , furniture and appliances are things that have to have special arrangements made for their disposal.
The regular W&E garbage collection truck will simply ignore such items and leave them there and thus, the eyesore grows. All the while the fools who put the stuff there look the other way and wait for it to miraculously vanish.
The same thing is starting to happen at the next public dock going westwards also .
This might also be a good time to remind the public , once again , that it was mandated by law a few years back that garbage goes out for collection ONLY on the morning of collection day.
Put it out the day before and within minutes the starlings , kisakdees, crows and feral chickens are tearing the bags open.
Then the wind comes up that night , like it will later, and the trash is spread all around the parish. And again ,the people who put it out early look the other way while their trash never gets cleaned up .
So sad!!!I have witnessed a number of expats doing this in our public parks and have reported it.god knows if these reports have been investigated.
