Two Men Deny Setting Christmas Tree On Fire
Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Jan 6], two men denied setting fire to a Christmas tree that was outside Clarien Bank’s Reid Street entrance in Hamilton.
47-year-old Garth John Hayward of Southampton and 52-year-old Eugene Floyd Anderson of no fixed abode, both pleaded not guilty to setting fire to a tree next to Clarien Bank knowing that the nearby building could be set on fire.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo set mention for later this month, and gave the defendants bail of $2,000 each.
