36th Annual Rendezvous Tournament Results
Records were broken in the recently concluded 36th Annual Rendezvous Tournament at the Warwick Lanes.
Topping the Men’s list was Le Vinc Samuels with games of 268, 257, 246 for a 771 total, while Steven Riley was a close second on games of 268, 278 and 217 for a 763 series.
On the Women’s side Dara Rimes from the USA topped the list on games of 255, 225 and 279 for a 759 series. Placing second was Patrice Tucker with games of 226, 247 & 247 for a 697 series.
During the Women’s Stepladder, fifth place June Dill steamrolled through the field bowling an 247 average for four games.
Dill didn’t give 4th place Lanan Bascome a chance and out bowled her with a 239, she then took on Michele Layton [USA] with a 257 to Layton’s 212. Dill went on to bowl Third place Patrice Tucker who made a great effort with a 228 game but Dill outperformed her with a 247 and climbed the ladder to take on first place Dara Rimes [USA]. Dill kept up the pressure and won the Championship with a 248 game to Rimes 214 to take home $500 and a Crisson watch.
Men’s Stepladder Finals 5th Place Damien Matthews took on James Joyner [USA] and scorched the lane with a 257 to Joyner’s 158. Matthews then took on David Maycock who stopped Matthews with a 235 to 196. Maycock then challenged Steven Riley who bowled a 214 but was out bowled by Maycock’s 242. He then proceeded to bowl top place Le Vinc Samuels in the match of the night. Maycock lost with a 223 to Samuels’ 267 who took home top prize of $500 and a Crisson watch.
