Pleasure Boat ‘High & Dry’ On St David’s Land

The recent heavy weather lead to a pleasure craft being found on dry land, with the Smiths Island and St. David’s public coming together to ensure that it was safely removed and transported for repairs.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre [BMOC] spokesperson said, “Tuesday, February 17 at 9.30am. The heavy weather took its toll on a pleasure craft off Smiths Island St. David’s, and a member of the public called BMOC to report the vessel was high and dry on his property.

“BMOC contacted the registered owner, who was off the island. A combination of public spirit and good will from the people of Smiths Island and St. David.s ensured that the vessel was safely removed to St. David’s Boat Yard for repair.”
