March 16, 2015

The Fairmont Hamilton Princess today [Mar 16] announced  that its harbourside restaurant, 1609 Bar & Restaurant, will open for dinner as of tonight.  The restaurant now will be open from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. daily, serving lunch, dinner and cocktails.

The 2,500 square foot open-air space offers every diner a panoramic view of the harbour. The restaurant will maintain a casual and social atmosphere for dinner and will feature a menu that ranges from fresh fish and steak to flatbread pizza, burgers, sandwiches and salads, as well as a variety of seasonally inspired entrees.

A carefully crafted cocktail menu offers Bermuda classics such as the Rum Swizzle and Dark & Stormy, as well as island-inspired favourites including Sparkling Lemonade, Bermuda Mai Tai, and Tropical White Wine and Berry Red Wine pitchers of sangria.

“We are excited to kick off the Spring by opening 1609 Bar & Restaurant for dinner,” said Allan Federer, general manager, The Fairmont Hamilton Princess.

“Diners can take in stunning views of the marina and harbour while enjoying a delicious meal and cocktails. Likewise, boaters can easily dock for a quick bite following a day on the water,” “The location of 1609 in town also makes it a great spot for the after-work crowd.”

In addition, to kick off the Spring season, the restaurant is offering its Facebook fans a 15 per cent discount from now until March 31. Diners must ‘Like’ the 1609 Facebook page and bring a print-out confirmation or show the connection on a smartphone or device to enjoy the discount.

The restaurant was open only for lunch during the Winter months. For additional information about 1609 Bar & Restaurant, please visit www.bermuda1609.com. For reservations call 441-295-3000.

For the price you pay for that food they should updated their menu smh…

  2. Kiskadee says:

There was a very poor selection for lunch with ridiculous prices for even a small pitcher of Sangria. The dinner menu needs to be much better with more realistic prices for drinks. The setting is wonderful but if you want regular local customers you need to improve on the food selection.
