Broad Arrow Aims For Quiz Charity Cash

March 20, 2015

A Bermuda lodge is to hold a special  quiz night tomorrow [Sat, Mar 21] in aid of three Island charities.

Broad Arrow Lodge will host the event at Docksider on Front Street to raise cash for the Women’s Resource Centre, Summerhaven residential home for the physically challenged and the Outward Bound youth adventure programme.

Broad Arrow’s Michael Murdoch-Smith said: “We expect to be busy, but there are still spaces for a few teams left for what promises to be a great night for good causes.

“We try to help the community in whatever way we can – these are three very worthy charities and it’s a way that anyone in the community  can contribute.”

And he added: “People don’t have to be quiz geniuses to take part – all they have to do is just turn up and enjoy themselves.”

The night, run by expert quizmaster Mike Bishop, starts at 7pm for dinner and drinks.

And Docksider owner Reed Young will make a donation to the charities on every drink and three-course meal sold on the night.

Prizes – some of which are valued in the thousands of dollars – include tea for four with Governor George Fergusson at Government House.

Tickets for the quiz night are $50 for a team of five and the night will include raffles, an auction and prizes – some for the top teams.

Teams can register for the quiz at www.ptix.bm and more information can be obtained from broadarrow1890@gmail.com.
