BSSF Senior School Track & Field Finals Results
A 23-year-old record was broken at the National Sports Center on the final day of the Bermuda School Sports Federation Senior School Track and Field Championships.
Cedarbridge Academy student Jah-Nhai Perinchief broke the Bermuda National Athletics Association High Jump record when he leaped 2.06m on his way to winning the Over 16 Boys High Jump. Kevin Miller finished second with a top leap of 1.80m, while Impact Mentor student Shomar Simmons finished third leaping 1.75m.
A new record was set in the Over 16 Girls Discus Throw of 36.00m set by Berkeley Institute student Tiara DeRosa, her school mate Brianna Bean finished second with a toss of 23.68m and Bermuda High student Jade Weaver finished third with a top toss of 23.08m.
The Berkeley Institute finished one, two and three in the Over 16 Girls 200 Meter Run which also saw Kyrah Scraders clock a Meet best time of 26.17, Azaire Smith finished second clocking a time of 26.43 and Danielle Smith finished third clocking 26.90.
The Berkeley Institute won the Combined Title with a score of 655.75, they also won the Female team category with a score of 339.50 and the Male category with a score of 316.25.

Looks like I still hold the boys 14-16 yrs DISCUS record I set in 1965 (50 yrs ago) at the Inter-school sports meet – when I threw the discus 143′ 11″!! I also set the Saltus record that year with a throw of 151′ 11″!!
Don’t believe me….Then call Jon Beard at SGS!! I have 2 of the oldest sports records on the Island!!
