Former Premier’s Official Portrait To Be Unveiled
An official portrait of former Premier Dr. Ewart Brown is set to be unveiled at the Cabinet Office on Friday, March 20th at 1.00pm.
Painted by Bermudian artist Che Caines, the portrait of Dr. Brown will join the portraits of his predecessors in the lobby of the Cabinet Office.
Dr. Brown remarked, “Our period in office was characterized by action and execution with a special emphasis on giving opportunities to those who regardless of their intellect and talent, had been denied in the past. We chose to support a young Bermudian talent and I am extremely pleased with the result.
“I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve as Bermuda’s Premier, for the work that was achieved and for the people who helped to make it possible. I am looking forward to sharing this very special occasion with the old Cabinet team, former Parliament colleagues, supporters, family and friends. While one man’s picture goes on the wall, it was the work of many that made it all possible,” Dr. Brown concluded.

How much did tax payers spend on this joke?!
Probably less than we spent on the Dame LBE statue done by someone from overseas.
Yep. The statue was $225,000 wasn’t it?
No thought then to use a Bermudian artist. Ooh noo.
I wonder how much that statue has cost us so far, including the compound interest paid to overseas bankers.
Well, he certainly left a legacy for Bermuda.
At least $2 billion and counting.
Our period in office was characterized by action and execution “.. Translated as . Spend, spend, spend…. Oh and borrow so we can spend!!!!
Did he really say he was extremely pleased with the result of the tenure of his premiership? How would things be if he wasn’t pleased?
Don’t need a portrait to remember him by.
Our children, their children, even their children will be reminded of him every day of their lives as they pay off the debt he ran up in so few years.
He must be very proud of himself. Mission accomplised.
You are all invited. No hoods please.
No thanks .
No thanks, I would prefer to have an absessed tooth along with an ear infection over coming to an event that only reminds me of the carnage you caused!!! At least everytime I fly back into Bermuda now, I don’t have to see that picture of you hanging in the arrivals hall, I guess I have to content with small blessings??
I hope you don’t ever fly into Bermuda on the Miami flight. After all, it was our PLP administration that negotiated for that important flight.
As a matter of fact, I do use that flight about four times a year, out of my many flights a year!! I will say thank you for that but, as you are aware, most things actually do have good uses, even cow manure!!! Makes a great fertilizer!!!
How much was this picture and who paid for it?
Very happy to see a Bermudian artist selected for this project, thank you Dr Brown!
