On Friday March 6, 2015, Jaymo Durham, owner and director of SMASH Table Tennis Rec Center and Vice President of the Bermuda Table Tennis Association, launched the first of a series of weekly SMASH Youth Round Robin Table Tennis Tournaments at their Hamilton facility.
A spokesperson said, “Coach Jay, as the young people call him, hopes to one day establish a youth league and even develop a Youth National Team to represent Bermuda in overseas competitions.
“Hosting the weekly round robins will help to stimulate interest in the sport locally, and increase the numbers of young people participating in the sport both in the private and public school sectors.”
The entry fee for the weekly Friday youth tournaments is $5, with registration at 5.00pm and competition beginning at 5.30pm. For more information, call 296-4141 or email getsmashed316@gmail.com.
