20 Year Old Admits Violently Resisting Arrest
Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Mar 16], a 20 year old man denied assaulting a police officer, however pleaded guilty to violently resisting arrest and using offensive words.
Tyshaun Brown pleaded not guilty to assaulting a police officer, but pleaded guilty to violently resisting arrest and using offensive words, in Sandys Parish, on 14th March 2015.
Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Cindy Clarke told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that in the early morning hours on 14th March, police were called to a disturbance at Woody’s in Sandys.
On intervening, a police constable was allegedly punched and Brown told police: “I don’t give a f***. Don’t touch me boy.”
The struggle continued with Brown eventually being put on the ground and subdued after police had employed a taser and Captor spray.
Magistrate Tokunbo ordered Social Inquiry and BARC Reports, set bail at $2,000 with one surety, and ordered Brown to return to Court for sentencing in May 2015.
