BCB Announce 2015 Youth League Sponsors
The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] said they are “extremely pleased” to confirm that Tokio Millennium Re Ltd., Hiscox, the Bank of Bermuda Foundation and BF&M have once again agreed to support the BCB 2015 Youth Leagues.
President of the BCB, Mr. Lloyd Fray, stated, “The BCB Youth Leagues are designed to accommodate a mix of teams from both local clubs and schools.
“The main purpose of our leagues is to teach the skills of cricket while enriching the lives of all of Bermuda’s children. The leagues provide an opportunity to interact with each other in a safe and fun environment that embraces equality, team spirit and togetherness.
“I would like to thank all four of our Youth League sponsors whose continued support provides our youth with a clear pathway for players to progress from the age of 5 through to the senior level.”
The Tokio Millennium Re 8&Under League started on Saturday [Apr 11] and continues through to the 20th June culminating with a League medal presentation for all those involved.
The league games are played every Saturday morning at the National Sports Centre from 9:30am-11:30am. Tokio Millennium Re Ltd. supports both the Pee Wee Cricket Program and the 8&Under League and is committed to bettering the lives of children in Bermuda through donations to youth and family services agencies as well as through supporting youth sports.
The Hiscox 11&Under League is played Wednesday or Friday evenings and concludes with the U11 All Star Game on Saturday 27 June. Hiscox has been a major supporter of our 11&Under Program for over 8 years.
This year the Hiscox Celebrity Cricket Festival takes place on Saturday 6 June at the National Sports Centre. The Hiscox 11&U Skills and Drills Competition take place prior to the Festival game and all of Bermuda’s 11&U players are invited to compete.
The Bank of Bermuda Foundation 14 & Under League starts on Saturday 18 April and culminates on Saturday 27 June with the All Star Game for all those involved. The 14 & Under games are 35 overs and are played every Saturday morning.
The Bank of Bermuda Foundation supports this League which serves ages 11 – 14 providing them with the opportunity for Bermuda’s youngsters, both boys and girls, to enjoy cricket in a disciplined environment that contributes to their well rounded personal development.
The BF&M Player Development League is a 40 overs competition played Saturday afternoons. BF&M are long-time supporters of our U17 program which offers an environment that encourages and requires discipline, focus, communication and teamwork.
