Olde Towne Market Set To Open On April 26
The first 2015 Olde Towne Market has been scheduled for Sunday, April 26, with the market to run on the last Sunday of every month from April through November, and the organisers are inviting vendors to join the market.
A spokesperson said, “We have put together some new and exciting ideas for 2015 and hope that you will be a part of our plan to revitalize the Market. With that in mind, we hope that you would consider participating and encourage other vendors who may be interested this year.
“The 2015 Market will run once a month along Water Street, the last Sunday of every month, from 2.00pm to 6.00pm, from April to November. The Olde Towne Market 2015 dates are as follows: April 26, May 31, June 28, July 26, August 30, September 27, October 25, and November 29.
“If you are interested in participating in the market, log onto oldetownemarketsg.com to complete an application form. Please give a brief description of your product in the comments box provided on the application form.”

Why not hold this bi-monthly as oppose to once per month. With tourist arriving wouldn’t it be worth $ to hold this more often?
Ray: We have been running the Olde Towne Market for the past five years and have tried various days and times. The majority of the vendors have full time or other jobs/commitments as do the organizers. We hope that this will make for a more dynamic market with both the vendors and the public making an effort to attend.
St. George’s is one of my favourite places on the island, I only wish they would come up with another name for St. George’s town opposed to ‘olde town’. If they do, maybe the perception would change and more people would visit. Sometimes it’s all in a name. Maybe “World Heritage Centre” or “Heritage Centre”
Before giving the market a name we asked for suggestions then we sent the survey out to 100s of people. Olde Towne Market was the name most people wanted.
